Buzzin’: Alex & Sam

Either of these people could be named Alex. Or Sam. This band is so damn confusing.

I know what you’re thinking: “Isn’t there some middle ground between Kid Sister and Bon Iver that needs exploring? And also, Frosted Miniguns is the sweetest name for a mascot ever.” Yes, dear readers, you are correct on both points! Though I’d argue that I’ve done a pretty solid job of exposing you to new and different cool stuff, like Princeton or Lilly Wood and the Prick, but the customer is always right. So, pay me for my blogging services, and I’ll agree with you.

Anyway, the internets have totally been abuzz with this dynamic and confusingly-named duo, Alex & Sam. They released an EP, Sounds Like This: Volume One, earlier this year, and it’s pretty freakin’ sweet. They’re a nice mix between She & Him, Norah Jones, and some other band whose name you’d immediately recognize and be like, “whoa, I’ve got to hear this!” (Sorry, but it’s Saturday which completely makes it permissible for me to mail this stuff in…)

Catch a coupla songs from the EP below:

See You Through – Alex & Sam

Land of the Free – Alex & Sam

If We Were – Alex & Sam (This is totally a bonus track!!!!!!11o2301111`1!)

PSSSST: THE EP IS FREE OVER AT LAST.FM. Download it legally there.

When are you going to quit doing this girly shit and post some more remixez??? I listened to “Buy Your Side” (or more appropriately, the first 18 seconds of it) and there wasn’t even a drum, let alone an electronic drum mashine!

Get better ears. The drum starts in the beginning with everything else.
